Five medals for Stags at Britich Championships

The Novuna British Trials took place at the Alexander Stadium on 2-3 August with places at the World Championships in Tokyo the goal for many athletes. There were some great performances from the Stags who represented the Club across a range of events.

Adele Nicoll and Charlie Husbands took top spots on the podium. Adele won yet another national medal taking the shot put title once again with a throw of 17.17m Charlie Husbands topped off an excellent season with his third title after winning the Welsh and English titles. In a tightly contested high jump he ended up sharing the gold medal with a jump of 2.14m

Elliot Giles looked in control in the 1500m but was just out sprinted in the last few metres. However, as he has the qualification standard for the Word Championships this silver medal secured his place on the team. Tilly Hooper also took home a silver medal in the pole vault and was delighted with anothe medal following her success last weekend at the England Championships.

Our final medallist of the weekend was Craig Murch in the hammer with an excellent throw over 70m.
