Knight Frank Academy Schools enjoy the experience of competing at the home of the Commonwealth Games
Four of the Knight Frank Academy Schools attended a competition hosted by Birchfield Harriers, the first time most had the experience of competing on a track.
Following the successful launch of the Knight Frank Academy in six local schools, Birchfield organised a competition at the Alexander Stadium for the youngsters who have been attending the academy sessions. This was the first time many of these young people had been to the stadium or ever competed on a track before.
They were all impressed and almost overawed by the opportunity to compete at the home of the 2022 Commonwealth Games. They all had a great time and there were some impressive performances.
The winning school on the day was Erdington Academy closely followed by Barr Beacon. Adam Chapman from Knight Frank was on hand to present a trophy to the winning team.
Keith Holt, Head of Development at Birchfield Harriers commented:
“This was the first event we have put on for our Academy Schools and it was great to see the standard of the young athletes here today. This is the first step in our community engagement programme and we hope next year this will be even bigger as we are able to offer an academy in more schools.”
