A nice change to the recent inclement weather was witnessed in Swansea as our senior men started on their quest to take their fifth title in a row. The sun was certainly shining on the team as it secured a comfortable victory by 38 points.

It was a day where the team spirit shone through and consistent performances across the whole team secured the victory. The performance of the day came from Craig Murch in the hammer who threw a league record of 68.26m. Also on form was another new member of the team Harry Coppell who won the pole vault with a height of 5.26m and then went on to take second in the high jump with a jump of 1.96m. Team mate Ryan Webb had a good day in the same event winning the A string with 2.08m.

Other athletes that had a busy day and competed in events they don't normally events were Tom Beasley who was sixth in the 800m and seventh in the 400m. Jack Phipps also followed his B string win in the pole vault win to take sxith in the triple jump.

With A string wins for Christian Byron 800m and Omar Kadar in the 3000m the team was well supported by top three finishes in many events which all resulted in a great start to the 2019 campaign.
