Birchfield is holding a family day at the Alexander Stadium on Sunday 4 August 11am-2pm. The aim of the event is to give everyone, big or small, the opportunity to try some athletic events or speak to coaches to get some tips to improve and part of the proceeds will go to Acorns Hospice.

Activities will include Sprinting, Long Jump, Shot Putt, Javelin and High Jump and running activities for those looking to start on their fitness journey or build on their performance. Specialist coaches will be on hand to coach events and all children will take home a certificate showing how well they have done.

For adults our road running leaders will be on hand to discuss training and there will be be opportunity to join in a training session too so whilst the children are being active the parents can also join in. If you have always wanted to start running but don'k know where to begin then again our road runners will be able to advise and a starter programme will be available to take away.

Refreshments will be available and there will also be athletes on hand for photo's and autographs so why not come along and join in. The cost is £5 per person or £15 per family. This is your opportunity to run in the stadium where the Commonwealth Games will be held so come along and join us.
