Matthew Hudson-Smith and Rio Mitcham have both set excellent times in the last week and are now on track to do well at the British Championships.

After some early set backs Matthew Hudson-Smith is on his way to full fitness and is on track to make his mark at the Birtish Championships, which is also the trials for the World Championships in Budapest later in the year.

In Oslo last night he ran an excellent time of 44.92, his first race after pulling out of the Diamond League meeting in Rabat a few weeks ago. Hopefully he is now well on the way to a full recovery and looking to secure his place at the World Championships.

Rio Mitcham is also having an excellent season and he too is targetting the trials in Manchester. Last weekend he ran a personal best of 45.60 in Geneva, the second time he has run below 46 seconds this season.

Birchfield Harriers has a reputation for producing 400m runners and Matt and Rio follow in the footsteps of the likes of Derek Redmond and Daniel Caines. It is great to see these two athletes progressing and we are excited to see what happens next.
